Zapier: Visions of the Future
Working on the Growth team present a number of challenges ranging from helping to explain what exactly Zapier is and does, to helping users find the right use cases and solutions for their needs. It was important to me to craft visions of future experiences that we could look to as a guiding light and possible future to build towards. Many ideas were spawned from this type of thinking that might otherwise never have been realized.
Here are a few examples of work that was created to help craft a vision for our Explore experience.
Discovering content & UGC
We were exploring multiple types of User Generated Content (UGC) and needed a way to showcase and deliver that work in a way that made sense to users. I created a rethink of our browsing experience that would give users more search and filtering abilities. Using a single sized card to represent the different types of content we offered, would enable us to present lots of different types of information in a clean and digestible manner.
Instead of a single page of apps, we could offer a number of tabs with different ways of experiencing the content: All Apps, Recommendations, App Combos, Zap Workflows, and Use Cases.
A vision for a page that has individual recommendations for how to best use the product.
One card to rule them all
We had a number of content products to offer users that were sometimes hard for users to understand as products. I felt that taking these products and turning them into cards would help to make them feel more intuitive and exploratory than just blocks of text or as abstract concepts explained in other ways.
Cards showing the different products; these can be used individually or in combination since they share a common design.
Find the Right Content for You
Each tab would give you a different view of how Zapier works to solve your needs. A user who is at a more advanced stage of understanding what they want to do has more options to dive into the content that makes the most sense to them, while a new user has many different ways of learning about the product through exploration and recommendations.
