Glassdoor Homepage & Dashboard

Glassdoor: Homepage Redesign & Dashboard

The homepage was a huge driver of sign-ups and activations for Glassdoor. Over the years it had become less focused and more cluttered as the company and product lines grew. I was the lead designer for redesigning the homepage and dashboard experience in conjunction with a larger company rebrand and repositioning.

Problem

Users are having a hard time deciding what to do first on the page, so they are leaving before doing anything. Once signed in, users find it very difficult to get an overview of their account and job searches. Years of design & marketing remnants have cluttered up the experience creating a lack of focus for the user.

Cross-team brainstorming

With the redesign of the homepage, the company was going through a rebrand and reposition so collaboration was essential here. I met regularly with Product, Marketing, Brand Studio, and the executive team to gather feedback and ideate. From these meetings I went directly to basic wireframes, then mid-hi fidelity designs. Mobile was also a key consideration, and we wanted to make the experiences consistent across all devices.

Dashboard Designs

This was going to be a new experience for users. Once signed-in the homepage becomes a personalized dashboard instead of marketing content. The user would be able to pick up where they last left off in completing account tasks and job searching tasks.
